If you have a vehicle that is powered by gasoline, then you have undoubtedly noticed the outrageously high gas prices, as have most Americans and consumers around the world, which has led you to compare gas prices. Because most of are trying to save a few pennies where ever we can, we find ourselves comparing gas prices at local gas stations in our area. It’s pretty sad when you have an economy car and it costs over $35 to fill the tank. You hardly drive, and it still doesn’t last you more than two weeks at best. Now think of this scenario using an SUV as an example, and you’re looking at $50-60 to fill the tank on a weekly to bi-weekly basis. Long gone are the days when gasoline was less than $1 a gallon and you didn’t necessarily have to compare gas prices, and it really wasn’t that long ago, just a few years, less than a decade, 1999 to be exact. I’m sure most of you can relate to what I’m trying to say here.
Most of us compare gas prices, more now than ever. We depend on our vehicles to get us to the places we need to go, and we don’t yet live in a society where everyone is driving hybrids or electric cars. When we compare gas prices every time we pull up to the pump, even if we are only saving a few pennies, we feel better about our purchase, don’t we? And after a period of time, the savings can really add up. We’re still upset of course that we’re paying an average of $3 a gallon, because the amount we’re saving really doesn’t go into our pocket at all, it just goes toward the outrageous over inflation of fuel costs.
So what can you do? The bottom line seems to be that domestic gas consumers need to compare gas prices, which they can easily do by going online and comparing gas prices at a number of websites devoted to helping consumers save money at the pumps. Check out any one of these informative sites, like www.fueleconomy.gov/fed/gasprices/states/index.html, www.autos.msn.com, www.gasbuddy.com, www.gaspricealert.com, www.Fuel--Prices.com, and a number of others where you can view gasoline price information for all states and selected US cities, to find the lowest price gasoline in your town.
